This week’s Works-For-Me Wednesday is about simple recipes using 5 ingredients or less. Well, since I’m trying to be a better cook and I haven’t cooked much in the past, I don’t really have a lot of recipes of my own to write about!
However, the other day, I found a great use for some leftover tortillas we had….
I love chips and dip, especially salsa. But, too many chips isn’t a good thing. So, here’s a quick way to get your chips and dip, but with tortillas instead.
- Package of tortillas
- Homemade salsa (tomatoes, cilantro, lime juice, onions, peppers) or any store bought salsa
- Heat up a frying pan and place a tortilla on it. Leave on the pan until the tortilla is hot or if you like, wait until the tortilla is browned.
- Remove from the frying pan and cut into quarters. Repeat with each tortilla.
- Serve with the salsa.
If you get low-fat tortillas, this can be healthy. We have a local Mexican restaurant that serves warm tortillas with freshly made guacamole. Yummy also!
