We had a great long weekend - amusement park, BBQs with friends and family. And, on Sunday, we discovered a whole new category of restaurants that we can take C to.
You see, both S and I have been only taking C to family restaurants like Chili’s, Marie Callendar’s, etc, where we don’t have too worry too much about C making noise or having other restaurant patrons stare at us and wondering why we brought a child to the restaurant. Before C, S and I would make a point to try different restaurants that are well known for their delicious food.
On Sunday, we were meeting a friend for lunch, and we suggested a coffee house nearby. Our friend offerred another choice. A fancier restaurant located in an outdoor, high-end mall. S and I looked at each other and reluctantly agreed, wondering what we were getting into. Reservations were made for outdoor seating.
Throughout the entire lunch, C was so well behaved, eating her cheerios and her lunch. She looked around, babbled a few times, but no fussiness! A few dropped cheerios on the floor, but no real mess. And, the outdoor seating was great – sound-wise and view-wise.
It was an eye-opener for us that we were not limited only to chain restaurants any longer. Afterwards, S and I decided that we can enjoy “fancier” (but, not 5 stars
) restaurants and have a lunch or early dinner, dining outdoors during the nice weather. We’ll give it another try. Yippee!
