I do!
S and I are watching the movie Waitress starring Keri Russell. It just started so I don’t know if it is a good movie or not.
However, one of the skills this waitress has is making pies and naming them for any situation. And, the intro scenes of the fillings being poured into the pies looked delicious! And, prompted me to write this!

We had another eye appointment today for C.
It’s always a very LONG appointment whenever she gets her eyes dialated. We were at the eye doctor’s office for almost 3 hours. But, C did very well and was not fussy at all. She played with the toys and was quite cooperative when the Optometrist and the PO looked at her eyes.
First, we’re going to try to increase her prescription to +8.75 in both eyes and not have bifocals this time. Her current prescription is +7.50 for distance and +10.50 for the bifocal part. When her eyes were dialated, the Optometrist saw that her prescription strength can be increased for the distance portion.
We’ll go back at the end of April. The hard part is that we have to start thinking about surgery. The PO suggested to us to start thinking of getting a second opinion, etc. It appears that C’s eyes and course of action for treatment are not cut and dry. The non-accommodative part of her strabismus is on the borderline. She also has a vertical eye turn which is not addressed by glasses. We had brought a bunch of photos of C to the appointment. There are times when her eyes are straight and others when they are turned (all with glasses). It’s so hard to say if we want the risk of surgery.
S’s main concern is that if we elect surgery, then it should be due to medical reasons (i.e. eyesight poorer without surgery) and not for cosmetic reasons. We were trying to get the PO to tell us what C would miss out on seeing if the new prescription is not helping more, and we don’t have the surgery for her.
This is all so frustrating. We want to do the right thing for C.
Anyhow, I’ll get her new prescription filled tomorrow, and we’ll go from there. I hope that her eyes turn less with the new prescription which will help in the decision on surgery. Her eyes are straight most of the time now, but there are times when they still turn.

I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed with just *thinking* about researching / looking for a preschool for C when she is around 3 or so.
C will be 2 in about two months so I have time. But, I’ve heard from a few folks that it’s never too early to tour preschools. I don’t mind doing so, but I don’t even know how to come up with a short list of preschools! This has now prompted me into action, and I feel a need to start this. It seems that there is only a certain period of open house dates for preschools and that has me a little worried if I miss these open houses (which all seem to be NOW!). I’m not ready for this yet!
I am starting to get a little worried about all of this and finding a good preschool for C!
(This is different than the tot/parent preschool I wrote in my last post. The tot/parent preschool is just a 10 week program offered by my city.)

C has gone to her toy / parent preschool for two weeks. It’s a once a week class that I signed up for. I wanted C to get used to being around more kids in a class setting. The class is three hours long. So far, I love it and I believe C does too. She has learned what “snack time” is.
Here is a star she made with the teacher.
