I Am Still Here!

It’s been a little over two months since I last updated this blog. Wow.  Updating this blog takes time, and I just didn’t have much time to sit and write updates.  I’ve also discovered Twitter with their short, random updates so I’ve been posting updates on that. 

Here are some short blurbs on what’s been happening on the eye update on C:

1.  The second opinion PO we went to indicated that C will need to have surgery also.  Her current prescription is at the max for her eyes.  In fact, the glasses may be a bit strong.  We had switched back to her bifocals since her last prescription was a lot stronger and her eyes crossed all the time in them.

2.  We’ll schedule a surgery for the fall.  I’m anxious, but realize that it’s the best for her eyes to be corrected so she doesn’t have to work so hard with them to see.  We may need to patch her eyes after surgery since right now, her eyes are aroud 20/40 to 20/50 with her glasses.  As a side note, it’s great that C can read the alphabet so that she can read the eye chart for the PO.

3.  In the last 2 months, we’ve had to get her glasses adjusted on the frames due to a few minor falls.  We also had to get the lens replaced for scratches.  After the surgery, the PO says that her prescription may decrease so we’ll order a backup pair of glasses at that time.  It can get hectic running around to the optical shop to get glasses adjusted so that C’s vision is not affected for any duration of time.

I will *try* to post more updates to the blog – there are a lot of things to write about, I’m sure.   And, I also need to reorganize my categories, tags.  Procrastination!
